We are so blessed. Blessed with two great families who love us very much. Last night we celebrated Christmas Eve at the Peddicord's, and today we celebrated Christmas here with the McCluen's where we currently live. We could not have asked for a better day and week. We are so thankful that we had the week off and got to share it with each other and our families. Having a giving heart and being with one another is what it is all about. Thank you everyone for everything, we love you! :)

{our cabin getaway}
Casey and I have been awaiting this week for a veeeeery long time! Not only was it Christmas week, but it was time for our cabin that we rented. The mountains in Sevierville were covered in snow and it was gorgeous! We had to get chains to put on the tires to even make it up there! I got to open all my Christmas gifts while I was up there (Casey's new stereo system in his car was his gift)! I got business cards, a new camera case, the New Moon board game, and Grand Ole Opry Tickets! Thanks baby, I love you! <3
Our cabin, "Bear Hugs"
Kiffey was there for the fun! :)
Dollywood!
The fireplace was my favorite (next to the hot tub).
Our caricature drawing we had done :)
I can't wait for next year!

{my granny}
My sweet great-grandmother, Violet Carson, went to be with Jesus on December 13, 2009. A little over a month after having a massive stroke, she just could not go back to the way that she was. She was never fully herself, but she is now :) What a great Christmas she is having in heaven. Now she is healed with no more pain.
Many people don't know the story of my great-granny, but she took in my mom and her 4 siblings when they were young. She became their mother, raising them like her own. Therefore she was more like my granny, the only granny I ever knew.
Her technical name truly does fit the person that she was = a GREAT Grandmother :) I love you granny...

{the blind side}
This movie was greater than ANY movie I have seen recently (yes, even better than New Moon). I can't say enough good things about this movie... maybe it's because I am a sucker for the under-dog, but I can't help it. It is based on a true story and it really teaches a lesson on GIVING to others, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, etc...
Everything that we should do for others this movie teaches.
2 THUMBS UP!

{our land}
Welp, it's kinda/almost official...Casey and I have a plot of land and it is now cleared! Maybe this time next year I will be updating my blog sitting in my new office. I am so thankful for my step-dad Scott,I love him so so so much! :)
{WOW}
Where does the time go? One minute it's Halloween, the next thing I know it's December 1st! Time is flying by, so let me catch everyone up...
A lot has been going on in the Mccluen/Peddicord household here lately. I am sorry to say not all of it is good news. Not only did Kristin's granny have a massive stroke, but her mom was in a car wreck a week later. :( Teresa is recovering, we are lucky that it was not a lot worse. But her granny is not doing very well. I just need anyone that reads this to please pray for our family. The saying is true, "When it rains, it poors!"
ON A BRIGHTER NOTE - We just had Thankgiving! :) Though things are hard right now, we all have things to be thankful for. We should never forget how blessed we truly are...
Casey was scary with the carver...
Deb made allll the food and it was sooo good!

{life is happening}
I am sorry for those of you (if any) people who follow our blog. We have been SO SO busy. Kristin has changed locations of work. She is now working in the Kingston branch. and Casey is wrapping up his last week in the Knoxville book which can get a little hectic! There have been a lot of things happening around the Peddicord household; our land will soon be cleared for building, jobs are hectic, Casey's closest friend from high school Matt Keys passed away, Kristin's grandmother had a massive stroke, Kristin had her first session doing photography, and much much more! So please be patient, we try to keep everyone up to date but like we said - life is happening...and fast!

{halloween}
This Halloween was a lot of fun! First, we started with Emma's 2nd Birthday at the Oak Ridge Children's Museum(she is getting all grown up!), that was a lot of fun. Then Halloween night was one of the greatest UT games this season! Not only did we win, but for the first time since 1920, we wore black jersey's! It was so awesome! We were so excited that we were there to witness it. So happy birthday to Emma Grace, and to UT Football: Wear those jersey's more!

{photography}
Casey got me an awesome camera. He knows I like photography and it's something I am passionate about. I have no experience, never taken classes either. I just like to have fun with it, I am not good AT ALL but practice makes perfect right? Here are just some random ones I took of mom and Scott as they walked the dogs tonight...

{new moon}
Ok, so the New Moon background is all me. I figure since I keep up with this thing I should be able to pick the background. Can you tell? I CAN'T WAIT until the New Moon premiere :) :) :) Casey will just have to deal with it a few more weeks.

{halloween fun}
Casey makes my life so exciting. It's the little things that matter and he knows I have never carved a pumpkin...until tonight :) I am so lucky to have him. He got us a pumpkin carving kit and it was soooo much fun! Check out our work...
Meet 'bug-a-boo' and 'peek-a-boo' :)

{Merry Christmas Deb & Steve}
We wanted to get Casey's parents a new TV for Christmas. We have been talking about this for months, waiting on the perfect one to pop up. Little did we know that the TV they had would stop working. They talked about going and getting one to replace it and this could not happen! We knew we couldn't put it off until December so we surprised them last night with an early Christmas gift! Merry Christmas Deb & Steve! We love you - Zack, Sarah, Casey & Kristin...

{oh what a night}
Last night was one of the funnest nights we have had in a while. We met Zack and Sarah at Wasabi's for some great sushi and hibachi. From there we went to see "Law Abiding Citizen" with Gerard Butler and Jamie Fox. The movie was awesome! I would definitely say it's a must see and you need to see it in theatres to get the full affect. It's rated R, mainly for the violence and gore. Kristin covered her eyes a few times because the gore was a little too much to handle, but there is a reason for it.
After the movie, Casey and Zack decided they wanted to take the girls to a Haunted House. FRIGHTWORKS is off Central Ave Pike in Knoxville and I would definitely recommend this place. For $13(it provides a Christmas gift for a less fortunate child), you get to walk through an office building for about 20 minutes and get scared...

{scary movie}
The Movie: Paranormal Activity
The Gang: Sarah, Derrick, Amy, Travis, Ashley, Elvis, Casey & Kristin
Welp, Halloween is soon approaching and with that comes scary movies. While I am not a fan of these, what would Halloween be without a few thrills? Today we went and saw Paranormal Activity and it definitely delivered! I had my share of jumps and gasps during the entire movie. Casey says it reminded him of "The Blair Witch Project", mainly because it was someone filming it the entire time - like a 'reality show' type feel. I say it was scary but people made it out to be more scary than what it really was. Either way, if you want a gasp or two - I would go.
It was so nice to get out of the house and spend time with friends. Love you all!

{in sickness and in health}
I've really been battling with sickness the past few days. I seem to be a target for these horrible infections. I've been to the ER, missed three days of work (something I never do), and have been on four different types of meds! While my body hurts, and my mood is "ornery", my baby is still by my side taking care of me. :) He knows I am hurting and is willing to do anything and everything to help me. I am so blessed he is always there to make me laugh or even rub my back. I just wanted to write a quick post to say thank you to him. I am so blessed he is mine.

{food and laughs}
Friday was our one year anniversary of when Casey popped the question! :) To celebrate, we went to Chesapeake's in Knoxville and then went to see Couples Retreat. First off, the king crab legs at this restaurant are the freshest in Knoxville! Second, the movie is a must see! As usual, Vince Vaughn never disappoints.
{work it out}
Tonight should be an interesting evening. I am off today(thank you Mr. Columbus) and Casey is at work (muahahaha), so I am about to go to the grocery store for some healthy groceries. See, Casey ordered this work-out program called "P90X"... I am sure you have seen the commercials on this program showing how you can "get ripped" in 90 days. Well, we fell for it and I am hoping the thing actually works! Tonight starts day 1 of the 90 day program so my camera is charged and ready for the 'day 1 photo' that we are supposed to take. Maybe at the end of the program I will have enough courage to post these pics, but for now I am off to get Casey's grocery list of "eggs, salsa, and cruncy peanut butter". Wish us luck!!!

{our life}
Where do I begin? I guess I will start off by saying thanks for taking the time to get to know us. Life is a little crazy right now as I am sure it is for everyone. We are newlyweds, living with my parents, trying to build a house, and at the same time trying to stay sane :)
If I could describe us I would say that we love life and laughter. We live life to the fullest and laugh all along the way. Being newlyweds, we both feel that as long as God is first, everything else will fall into place. We aren't perfect, but who is? Everyone has faults and trust me, we have A LOT.
I hope you enjoy our site. Follow along as I will have many updates on the house building, living with the parents, and much MUCH more :)
